Lash Lift Trends of 2024
Since 2018, lash lifts have surged in popularity, becoming the most frequently searched term on the internet according to Google. As we leap into 2024, an era celebrating natural beauty, this low-maintenance beauty treatment shows no signs of slowing down. Instead, it has gained immense popularity, continually evolving and cultivating unique trends of its own. Given its longevity and soaring growth, it is likely lash lifts aren’t going anywhere in the future.
What are Lash Lifts?
Lifting and curling the natural lashes perfectly captures the essence of the fresh faced, clean girl aesthetic - a term that has recently gained popularity on social media. This treatment accentuates features, making eyes appear bigger and brighter, with results lasting for up to 6-8 weeks. It is ideal for those who favour a fuss free beauty routine, without the commitment of eyelash extensions.
Why lash lifts are so loved:
- Affordable and Low maintenance
- Semi permanent- results last 4-6 weeks
- Quick treatment and safe
- Conditions and nourishes natural lashes
- Can still wear full eye makeup and mascara
- Enlarges, brightens and makes eyes pop
Some lash lift trends that have recently caught our eye are:
1. Asian Lash Lift aka Glueless Method
A new approach to lash lifts that skips the lash wrapping step altogether. This technique involves loosening the disulfide bonds without the use of classic lash lift glue.
Glueless method can only be performed with a cysteamine based product NOT TGA (thioglycolic acid) based. This allows the lashes to be gently softened from the root to tip, preventing over processing the lashes even at the ends.
To perform the lift, lashes can be brushed upwards on top of a reusable eye patch positioned on the upper eye lid, similar to placing a shield. Or they can be brushed downwards on top of a reusable eye patch placed underneath the eye to protect the under eye skin.
Since the lashes are fully softened, shaping them becomes effortless, eliminating the need for glue to secure them onto the shields.
The glueless method offers a safer alternative, as its thicker solutions help prevent leakage or dripping into the eye. By eliminating glue, the likelihood of skin irritation or allergic reactions around the eyes and skin is significantly reduced as well.
Additionally, this approach simplifies the lash lift process, leading to a faster treatment compared to traditional lash lift appointments and offers a great alternative for lash lift technicians struggling with lash wrapping.

2. Reverse Lash Lift Shields
The Reverse Shields by Oshare Lash x Lashmother Uli is the first patented lash lift rod of its kind. Our lashmother Uli partnered with Oshare Lash, a premier lash company in Korea, to introduce the original restoration rod to North America.
The Reverse Shields are ingeniously crafted as an inverted version of a traditional lash lift shield, crafted from supple silicone. The multipurpose rod can be used for a variety of lash uses:
- Assisting with Asian lash lift or glueless method as mentioned above
- Relaxing overprocessed/ overlifted lashes
- Tinting upper and lower lashes, providing the ultimate protection for the eye area, ensuring impeccable, smudge-free results
- Removing eyelash extensions
- Preparing lashes with pre-care products before application
It also includes a unique black colour option specifically to hide the discoloration of the shields from tinting. Unwanted tint stains on lash lift shields, particularly on your favorite colored ones, can be a frequent nuisance. Fortunately, Reverse Shields offer a much-needed remedy to this issue.
3. Vegan Systems
ELAN KeraVEG Lash Lift & Brow Lamination Results
As more people are making the shift towards a vegan lifestyle and making more conscious and ethical choices, this societal movement has led to an increase in demand for vegan cosmetics that do not contain animal ingredients. Some companies acknowledge this need by developing vegan solutions or reformulating products that meet these new standards of plant based beauty.
Vegan cosmetics are essentially products that do not include animal sourced ingredients or by products. This involves avoiding common ingredients such as beeswax, lanolin, collagen and keratin, which are very common components in lash lift systems especially in the third step or aftercare stage.
Vegan lash lift systems deliver results that are equally impressive as those achieved by traditional systems, and prove that effective treatments can be aligned with ethics.
Some vegan lash lift systems we offer are:
- Thuya Vegan Lash Lift & Brow Lamination

4. Mixing Tint into Step 2
Elleebana Profusion Lash & Brow Tints
In Traditional lash lift systems, tinting the lashes is often done after the application of step 2. However, a few systems offer an innovative and time efficient approach that lets you tint and set lashes at the same time. This is done by mixing the tint with the setting lotion, and following the same application instructions for step 2, while adding tint at the same go. However, this process can also be done as a separate, standalone treatment.
An important note to consider, only systems that were developed to combine tint and step 2 should only be used together. The only downside is that the tinting results on lashes may not be as intense as when tints are used as a separate step.
This option may not be for everyone or what most lash lift artists are used to, but it can cut down the procedure time, allowing you to take on more clients per day.
Elleebana Profusion Tints:
The Elleeplex Profusion Tint System is the next generation in permanent hair colouring. Designed for the beauty professional who desires optimal performance, giving long lasting colour and definition.
These lash tints work on their own or as part of the Profusion Lash and Brow Lamination System. Add this tint to lashes and brows during the lash and brow lamination service, saving you time! By mixing the tint with the Profusion setting lotion, apply this to set lash lift or brow lamination as well as adding color.
Elan KeraTint Lash & Brow Tint
KeraTint Lash Tint is a component of the innovative KeraVEG Lash Lift & Brow Lamination System. Thanks to the unique formula, it can be used at the SECOND stage of the lash lift procedure, as well as simply for eyelash tinting.
5. Applying Tint After Step 3
Another emerging trend is the application of tint after the third step. As noted above, in traditional lash lift systems, tinting is typically done following step 2. However, certain systems, like the Elan Supersonic Eyelash and Eyebrow Flexing System, prescribe a mandatory three-step process where the tint is applied after step 3.
This method may be unusual, but the theory behind Elan’s Supersonic Protocol is that by completing the full lamination before tinting, it allows the hair to better absorb all the care ingredients. Ensuring that the lash and brow hairs are in their healthiest, optimal state before applying tint— a process involving additional chemicals, will result to healthier and more resilient hair.
Supersonic Step 1 contains keratin and collagen, while quickly remodels disulfide bonds with a synergistic blend of Thioglycolic Acid and Cysteamine HCL. Step 2 restores the hair structure with argan oil, hydrolyzed collagen and ensures maximum interaction with Serum 1. The Multivitor, which is the third step of the fixing protocol, contains a unique active ingredient delivery system. It contains a blend of soy and wheat proteins, keratin, betaine, and polymers. The proteins reduce the harmful effects of the compositions on the hair, restores it during the perming process, and helps to fix the shape of the hair.
The unique nanosystem ensures a deeper penetration of moisturizing ingredients and vitamins into the lower layers of the skin and hair to strengthen and restore natural functions. As you can see, each step is infused with a care complex that work in harmony to provide maximum protection and preparation before tint application.
6. Bottom Lifts
Bottom or lower lash lifts focuses on lifting the bottom lashes, enhancing the definition around the eyes, and creating a more open eyed effect. It typically follows the same protocol as the upper lash lift. Performing a lower lash lift is less common and can prove to be more challenging due to the shorter length of the lashes and the pain point of positioning the shield accurately. However, the introduction of new bottom shield designs, featuring an eye patch shape combined with a roller, is leading to an increase in the popularity of bottom lifts.
The world’s first Bottom Lash Lift Patch-Shields was introduced this year by Lamitta, a brand known for producing innovative lash lift tools made in Kazakhstan. The patch-shield features a protrusion for fixing and tinting lower lashes, creating a natural curl, designed in an eye patch shape. With its symmetrical and anatomical form, it can seamlessly fit all eye shapes, while the functional slits allow you to open into any desired curve, sitting perfectly underneath the lower lash line.
Another brand offering a comparable design is the Bottom Lash Lift Shields - Sticky, and Lower Lash Lift Shields - Cats by Katya Vinog. The unique design of the bottom rollers ensures a smooth and efficient application process, while achieving the perfect lower lash curl.
The rollers are designed with a wide surface, and features a sticky layer that enables them to adhere to the skin like hydrogel patches, while simultaneously acting as a bottom lash lift shield for tinting and curling. This 2 in 1 functionality offers unmatched versatility and comfort for a seamless experience.
These distinctive designs enables effortless placement of the shield beneath the lower lash line, protecting the delicate skin underneath, while facilitating a direct lift on the patch.
