Firstly, what exactly is Airbrush Brows?
Similar to the airbrush makeup technique that relies on air for an even distribution of product to ensure impeccable coverage, airbrush brows follows the same method but for eyebrow tinting procedures. The most traditional brow tinting method used today is the manual application of tint or dye using a brush. However, the key difference is the use of specialized equipment, specifically an airbrush machine in place of a traditional brush, and only liquid brow tints are compatible. The airbrush effortlessly and precisely coats each brow hair with a delicate spray of pigment with a controlled application.

Why the airbrush method?
There are a few reasons why the airbrush method is used for brow tinting. One of the benefits is that it has the ability to achieve maximum full coverage by working with multiple thin layers of the tint, but can still be customized to your client’s preference. Once the layers are applied, the finish produces a powdery and natural look, while ensuring even skin stain and distribution. Airbrushing will create super crisp lines, leaving a lightweight feeling on the skin and delivers a very fast treatment. To enhance the brow service, it can also be combined with brow lamination.
Why has airbrush brows become so popular?
Brow trends have undergone various transformations over the years, greatly influenced by shifting standards of fashion, beauty and even impacted by global events. In recent years, we have witnessed a revolution of eyebrow trends from thin, penciled brows of the 1990s to the now popular fluffy laminated look. Covid-19 also played a role in this shift as individuals are embracing their natural beauty and opting for more low maintenance beauty routines.
In this modern era and the rise of technology, social media has become one of the primary platforms for self expression and having the ability to reach a mass audience. Social media influencers have also risen in popularity, shaping the current landscape of trends, style and beauty culture. Airbrush brows received its attention on platforms such as Instagram, tik tok and youtube, becoming a viral sensation since the beginning of 2024.
With the combination of these circumstances, the development of airbrush brows paved its way forward, providing a more customized solution for every eyebrow shape, texture and thickness.
How long does airbrush brows last?
Fading is expected, but it can last up 5-6 weeks on the hair, and 10 days on the skin. Airbrush brows can last longer than other traditional brow treatments but offers less permanency to ensure the freedom of changing looks.
Who is it recommended for?
This technique may not be for everyone, but it is an ideal option for those who prefer full coverage, darker, bolder, more defined eyebrows. The intensity can be adjusted to your client’s preference, whether they prefer a more subtle or bold look.
If you want to achieve that flawless ombre effect, airbrushing is the perfect solution. This approach allows you to achieve the gradual light to dark transition that starts from the inside of the eyebrow going outward. This fade effect is achieved by building saturated layers, controlling the intensity and placement of the pigment. The results provide a natural and full looking finish.
Airbrush brows can provide a very fast and efficient treatment without compromising results, and allows you to take additional clients per day, increasing your earning potential.
What tools and solutions are needed?
If you do decide to take the airbrush brows plunge, it's crucial to select the right equipment. Here is a list of the must have equipment, and the additional accessories you need to support this application technique.
Must Have:
You must select an airbrush machine with plastic cups rather than metal ones. Metal containers will oxidize the tint, and thus change the colour of the solution. Liquid tints must also be used to prevent the machine from clogging. Infinity Aqua Drops is the tint of choice for airbrushing brows.

What are lash lift glue balms?
Glue balms are the next generation of lash lift adhesives and completely new type of product on the market, designed specifically to reduce the application time while protecting the natural hair. They are solid, wax-like formulas packed with nourishing ingredients that help to minimize the negative effects of the chemical processing during the lift. The balms work in a similar way to traditional lash lift adhesives, by holding the lashes in place during the curling process. No special tools are required when working with the balm, however, the Laminator Brush was specially designed for the job and makes the application even easier for many.
Benefits of lash lift glue balms:
1. Easier & faster applicationOne of the biggest advantages of lash lift glue balms is that they are easier to apply than traditional liquid or gel adhesives. Because they do not fully dry, you are able to complete the lash wrapping all at one go, making it less messy and more precise. Say goodbye to endless adjustments with the help of water and say hello to perfectly separated lashes with a thin layer of adhesive with glue balms. If this all sounds too good to be true, make sure to follow the link and check out this lash wrapping done in under 3 minutes by our @lashmother.uli, click here for link.
2. Nourishing ingredients
While traditional adhesives mainly focus on providing a superior hold, glue balms contain more nourishing ingredients, which can help to strengthen and condition the lashes during the chemical processing while preventing dehydration. This is a particularly appealing feature for those who are looking for ways to improve the health and appearance of their client’s natural lashes.
3. Longer shelf life
Another great benefit of glue balm is that they have a longer shelf life than liquid adhesives when opened. Because they are a solid formula, there is no change in the consistency over time, meaning you can finally use all the lift glue before it goes bad. This can be especially beneficial if you don't do lash lifts on a regular basis, as you won't have to worry about your adhesive going bad before you have a chance to use it up.
4. More comfortable for clients
The no dry formula and conditioning ingredients, make the lash wrapping a breeze for both you and the client. During the wrapping there will be minimal feeling of pulling the lashes and once you are done, you don’t need to remove the excess glue or worry about leaving your client with a ‘sticky’ feeling in their eyes. The overall experience for clients comes more comfortable and makes them more likely to come back for repeat lash lifts in the future.
5. Improved safety
Finally, lash lift glue balms are generally considered to be safer than traditional liquid adhesives. This is because they are less likely to come into contact with the waterline or eyes during the application process. Due to the solid consistency there is no dripping, thus making it easier to control and apply precisely, which can help to reduce the risk of accidental contact with eyes for beginners.
Overall, there are many compelling reasons to consider making the switch to glue balms. With easier application, longer shelf life, nourishing ingredients, improved safety, and greater comfort for clients, they offer a range of benefits over traditional lash lift adhesives.
Lami Lashes vs. Eye Do Glue Balm
Glue balm by Lami Lashes was the world’s first balm style lift adhesive, that quickly took over the lift industry and became the go-to glue for lash masters around the world. No surprise there, considering there finally was a product that offered all the great benefits of a glue balm but most importantly a faster, easier and no-mess application for lash wrapping. The Lami Lashes Glue Balm has an innovative glue without glue formula that consists of three key oils, Argan, Jojoba, and Avocado, that provide the natural lashes with deep hydration. However, as the balm doesn’t consist of any glue, you might experience application difficulties with certain type of natural lashes that require a hold to keep them secured on the shields. In this case, you can use a small amount of regular lift glue to secure those stubborn lashes or go with an alternative glue balm such as the Eye Do.
Eye Do Glue Balm offers a slightly different balm experience, as it is formulated with some glue-like properties and provides a stronger hold. This will ensure that even short, stubborn and downwards growing lashes will hold their position, and you don’t need to worry about any lashes popping off the shields. The Eye Do Glue Balm’s main source of hydration comes from castor oil, which has been used for centuries to improve the health of natural lash and brow hair.
You really can’t go wrong with either glue balm option, Lami Lashes or Eye Do. Based on the feedback from our customers, most lash lift masters make sure to keep both options available at their station. What you do need to keep in mind with both options is that you MUST increase your solution processing time by 20%, this is not optional! Example, your normal processing time would be 10 minutes but as you are using a glue balm, your processing time will be 12 minutes. As we mentioned earlier, both Lami Lashes & Eye Do consists of oils, this also means that your lift solutions just simply will require little extra time to penetrate the protective layers of oils.
Now is your turn to level up your lash lift game and make the switch to a glue balm, you definitely won’t regret!

What is Eyebrow Tinting?
Eyebrow tinting is a technique used to semi-permanently color brow hairs while also staining the skin if preferred to provide the appearance of fuller eyebrows. Tinting provides a shape and definition that will enhance your natural brows. We all know how a perfectly crafted brow makes a huge difference and tinting allows you to skip brows from your morning routine while gaining extra minutes towards your precious beauty sleep.
The Difference Between Eyebrow Tint and Henna?
The most commonly known form of coloring your eyebrows is tinting. One of the widest used brand of eyebrow tint is Refectocil which comes in a variety of base colors that are then mixed with either a liquid or cream oxidizer. Results vary from 3 – 6 weeks on the brow hair, however, do not expect the stain to last more than couple days on the skin. This type of industry standard tints were never created to last on the skin. On a positive note if the results didn’t come out as expected, a tint remover can be used to address spots on the skin but if your tint turned out too dark, there is no miracle cure to fix that unfortunately. As customer were craving more longer lasting results, Henna brows were introduced to the market as a ‘natural’ alterative promising longer results.
Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling the sparseness. The results of henna eyebrows last up to 2 weeks on the skin and up to 6 weeks on the hair. However, you need to be very careful with henna dyes because it is a natural exfoliant that will dry the hair and skin and the harshness of the chemicals and/or overuse of the henna tints can turn into a full blown allergy or in worse case hair loss. Henna isn’t all bad and can be a great option for some customer when correctly used by a professional and if you do choose to use it make sure to check the labels for Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) aka ‘Black Henna’ as it causes chemical burns and allergic reactions.
Henna can give longer results but can prove problematic especially as the number of skin sensitivities among clients are growing by the day. Let us introduce the next generation of eyebrow tints that deliver superior results suitable for even the most sensitive skins. ÉLAN Long-Lasting Eyebrow Tints that are nothing like you have seen before, results lasting up to 30 days on the hair and up to 14 days on the skin. It is the ultimate brow service that provides your customer a longer maintenance cycle while the results are mind blowing.
ÉLAN Eyebrow Gel Tint
The ÉLAN Eyebrow Gel Tint has a patented formula and the application technology is unique around the world. The gel tint comes in 3 different main base tones, Black, Dark Brown and Medium Brown. By utilizing the 3% Oxider and Argan Oil you are able to easily achieve all shades of the base tone by following the mixing schedule. The gel tint is perfect for both eyebrow and eyelash tinting, in case you were wondering!
To reach maximal results it is highly recommended to use before tinting the ÉLAN Cleansing Detox-Mousse and after the ÉLAN Colour Fix for longer color effect.
The key benefits of ÉLAN Gel Tint:
ÉLAN Smart Brow Tinting Systems – Deep Brow Tint & Colour Booster
The ÉLAN Smart Brow Tinting System is an innovative eyebrow tinting system developed by ÉLAN being the first ever eyebrow & eyelash tint with neutral pH. Skin sensitives and allergic reactions can prevent many from enjoying the tinting experience but with this new multifunctional alkalizing agent the percentage of oxidative hair colorants can be decreased significantly, resulting in lower risk of a potential allergic reaction. This agent provides an immediate chemical reaction, acting as the oxidation process accelerator and allowing the eyebrow tint to appear instantly on the skin and the hairs. Available in 2 base tones, ICY cold brown and SPICY warm brown.
The key benefits of ÉLAN Deep Brow Tint:
*The tint can be mixed only with the Elan Oxidizing Emulsion 3%Smart Brow Tinting System.
The ÉLAN Colour Booster are specially designed for mixing with the basic ÉLAN Gel Tint & Elan Deep Brow Tint to add more depth and intensitivity to the eyebrow or eyelas color. If you are looking to expand your selection of shades, color booster is a must have. They can also be used for correcting and eliminating undesired color nuances.
The key benefits ÉLAN Colour Booster:
By learning the correct mixology you can provide fully customized services with all the shades and tones at your dispose when you combine ÉLAN Deep Brow Tint and Colour Booster and the earlier mentioned surface preparator foam called ÉLAN Cleansing Detox-Mousse and the setting spray ÉLAN Colour Fix.
]]>Knowledge is power they say which is extremely accurate especially when understanding the science behind the glue which we rely on to provide us returning clients and a growing business. Eyelash extensions adhesives are the hot topic of lash industry as over time we have learned about the many different factors that could make it or break each time you drop a new glue dot.
What is eyelash glue?
An eyelash extensions adhesive is a fast-drying, glue-like chemical bonding agent and the main ingredient in all lash adhesives is Cyanoacrylate. It is compound of Cyanide which is what allows for the glue to thicken and Acrylate that is a conjugate base of Acrylic Acid that provides a fast-drying time as it quickly hardens when exposed to air. Due to its chemical makeup we are able to have excellent retention and an efficient application.
In addition to Cyanoacrylate, we have PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate) that is the reason why we have great retention as it ensures that the lashes remain in place for a long time. When used together with Cyanoacrylate it acts as a reinforcer that strengthen the adhesive’s bond and highlights the most important properties of eyelash extensions adhesives:
Hydroquinone is a stabilizer that you might find in some glues in very small amount as it helps to prevent the glue from hardening in the bottle as well as prevents from hardening prior to using the product.
The final ingredient is Carbon Black aka the Pigment that makes the deep dark color. Naturally only used in black adhesives and is obviously absent in clear lash adhesives.
What should I know before using an eyelash extensions adhesives?
There are a few things you should always keep an eye out when using your glue. There are both general and product specific factors that affect the optimal conditions for your lash adhesive to work. You should always start by examining the label of your lash glue to identify the optimal working conditions of that specific glue and then implement those in your space. The main factors to look out are drying time, humidity and room temperature but also the proper storage of your glue will surely make a difference in the use and life time of your glue. Let’s look closer as to why these factors are so important and requires your absolute attention during each lash application.
Understanding the importance of correct drying time
The drying time of your eyelash extensions adhesive will depend on the type and brand of adhesive you will be using, however, the standard drying times vary anywhere from 0.5 sec. up to 5 sec. as sensitive eyelash extensions glues have lower levels of cyanoacrylate which causes the glue to dry significantly slower.
Seasoned lash technicians look for the quickest drying times in the market as their skills and speed require rapid drying while beginners often are more comfortable using lash adhesives with 1-3 sec. drying time. Check the drying time of your lash adhesive from the label to know how fast the glue is able to cure but don’t forget, this is only true if your space also has optimal temperature & humidity to support the ideal adherence.
Why room temperature matters
Because the viscosity of your glue changes with it! For a uniform viscosity and drying time always make sure to set your room temperature at 19-25°C / 66-77° F, this will ensure consistent results and excellent retention. Every lash station should contain a thermometer combined with hygrometer for convenient climate control.
We can simply take water as an example, when the temperature drops it can turn solid ice, however, if heat is introduced the ice will melt and turn liquid. This exact same happens when the room temperature changes in your working space. In lower temperatures the lash adhesive tends to solidify causing a longer drying time and on the other hand, if temperatures are sky rocketing the lash adhesive will become even more liquid as it ‘melts’ resulting in even faster drying time.
Is humidity a friend or an enemy of eyelash extensions adhesive?
Short answer is both, humidity is the reason why the eyelash extensions adhesive reacts and dries. Industry standard recommendation for optimal humidity is between 40% to 60%, you should be able to see the optimal humidity of your lash glue also on the back label.
Similar to changes in temperature, the flux of humidity in your space will affect the consistency of your eyelash glue. When humidity is high, shorter the drying time and time of use of the adhesive after dispensing. Meaning, lower the humidity, the longer drying time and time of use after dispensing. It is good to note that with humidity higher than 60%, the fast drying time will have a negative effect as it causes shock polymerization due to the glue curing too fast. Once humidity passes 70% the drying time will gradually slow down with extremely poor adhesion.
You can combat high humidity by investing in a dehumidifier that removes excess moisture from the air, thus providing a convenient way to lower the room humidity. On the other hand, if your room suffers from low humidity you should definitely have a humidifier present in your space to ramp up moisture levels or as a short-term solution you can use your Nano mister to provide fast relief at your eyelash station.
How to properly store your glue
Your eyelash extensions glue prefers a cool and dark place at room temperature both unopened and opened. Keep in mind that even though unopened adhesives can be stored in the fridge or freezer, you should never store an open lash adhesive anywhere else except room temperature! Unopened glues are good for approximately 6 months and opened ones you should be able to use within 6 – 8 weeks.
When taking an open lash glue from storage, make sure to shake for 30 sec. to 1 min. manually or you can use an automatic shaker to ensure that all ingredients inside the bottle has been well mixed together and always make sure to disregard the 1st drop as that glue usually isn’t good for use as it has been trapped inside the tip and wasn’t actually mixed with rest of the glue for optimal consistency. Always before dispensing more adhesive during your lash application, make sure to shake well again. IMPORTANT! Allow the glue drop to come down on its own to avoid any air being sucked back inside the bottle causing consistency, retention and lifetime issues.
If you are looking to increase the lifetime of your glue make sure you always clean the nozzle well from any glue residue to ensure tight and secure closure of the cap. Keep it in a upright position at all times to avoid glue dripping to your cap and store it inside a vacuum sealed bag or container to keep out any extra moisture. You can also include a Moisture Absorbent Bag such as a silica gel packet as an extra layer of protection for you beloved lash adhesive.
How to choose the best lash glue for me?
Firstly, consider your working speed because if you are looking for a fast drying glue, you better be ready for it. Then you can test measure the climate conditions of your space to identify any need for possible external systems to help combat temperature and humidity changes. However, in some cases you might not still be able to reach those optimal conditions and you might factor that in when choosing your lash adhesive. As we know, high humidity speeds up the drying time, so for example, if you can’t lower the humidity then you might want to choose a slower drying glue as in high humidity it will dry 1-2 times faster.
How to address issues with your adhesive?
Lashes not sticking – We all have experienced a day where the lash simply refuses to stick, it’s crazy right?! But we just learned that with low humidity the drying time of your eyelash glue slows down and thus isn’t able to cure.
Red and irritated eyes – Slow curing also can risk your client developing an allergy due to the increased exposure to cyanoacrylate fumes which also result in red and often sore eyes which definitely isn’t going to help in building your client base.
Lash stickies – when neighboring lashes cure to one another. Your poorly curing adhesive could be possibly causing permanent damage to your clients natural lashes which is even more important to make sure your eyelash extensions adhesive is curing correctly.
